Papers of the Secretary's Office of the Board of Customs relating to plantations. Items selected for copying by the AJCP include: out-letter entry books, reports to Treasury about salaries of officers and duty on goods; letters to public offices and private individuals; annual returns from each Customs Department giving names, ages, positions and duties of customs officers, expenditure, vessels entered and cleared and staple articles exported. Miscellaneous bundles of papers about appointments,and general customs duties in New South Wales,1823-1860, New Zealand, 1833-1855, South Australia, 1832-1854, Tasmania, 1826-1856 and Victoria 1833-1857.
Selected items only have been copied by the AJCP from pieces: 4-11, 18-19, 23-30, 42-50, 116-134, 137, 139-140, 144, 146 and 148. The remaining pieces were copied in their entirety.
