The ICIP comes in the form of an account of the traditional methods Bluey Ilkarr and his wife Susie Aladjingu used for creating artworks. Scope and contents: The speeches included in this file were all presented during O'Donoghue's tenure as Australian of the Year 1985; some of the speeches in this file were presented to: an opening of the Oenpellie at the Aboriginal Heritage Gallery (Darwin), Australia Day Presentation (Darwin, 29 January 1986), and a book launch for Invisible Histories by Geoff Page. The speeches cover a variety of topics including the socio-economic conditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the benefits of their traditional knowledge, the fight for land rights (including the return of Uluru to the Traditional Owners, the Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjara people), Australia Day and the upcoming Bicentenary Celebrations.
