Scope and contents: Some of the speeches included in this file were presented to the National Human Rights Congress, the National Aboriginal Housing Conference, a Charles Perkins Testimonial Lunch, and the ATSIC [Australian and Torres Strait Islander Commission] Planning Conference. The speeches cover a variety of topics with a focus on homelessness and housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The file includes a copy of Address to the Australian Society of Labor Lawyers, an address given by Shirley McPherson, then Chairman of the Aboriginal Development Commission, on the 28th of August 1988.
