- This series is comprised of material relating to Professor Lowitja O'Donoghue's nursing career. O'Donoghue became the first Aboriginal person to train as a nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1954; File 2 includes job references for O'Donoghue to receive training and registration as a nurse and her Nurses' Certificate from the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The series also includes photographs, publications, many specifically referring to O'Donoghue, certificates, later recognition, reunions and conferences.
