- Scope and contents: National Press Club Address May 1992. Address delivered to mark the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Aboriginal Constitutional Referendum of 27 May 1967. At the time of the recording, O'Donoghue was the Chairperson of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC). O'Donoghue relates her own experiences before the referendum and many of the positive developments of the past 25 years including the formation of national administrative bodies for Aboriginal advancement and self-determination. The considerable economic, cultural and social problems still confronting Aboriginal and Torres Strait people are also discussed.
