The principal correspondent is W.A.B. Hamilton, the Secretary of the Admiralty, and the other correspondents are the parliamentary under-secretaries, Henry Lowry-Corry and Henry G. Ward. Many of the letters have attachments, including copies of letters from the Foreign Office, circulars, and notices to mariners. One notice, dated 18 June 1846, refers to lights in Banks [sic.] Strait, Van Diemen's Land.
