Guinea Airways' Ford Trimotor, piloted by Tom O'Dea, over Hoiyevia, 31 May 1938. The strip had been dug to soften it, then laid with a thick grass cushion. Between 31 May and 3 June six tons of supplies were dropped, most without parachutes, packed inside two bags.
