The bulk of the papers filmed comprise correspondence dating from Lloyd George's years as Prime Minister. They deal with: communications between the British and Dominion governments; the status of the Dominions; World War I; Imperial shipping; future control of German colonies in the Pacific; the 1916 conscription referendum in Australia; Japanese territorial claims; the 1919 Peace Conference; the 1921 Washington Disarmament Conference; the 1921 Imperial Conference; reparations; mandates; Nauru; the League of Nations; Anglo-Irish relations; and visit of Prince of Wales to Australia and New Zealand.
