The Ewers Papers include correspondence, diaries, notebooks, photographs, family documents and publications relating to several members of Ewers' family. The main focus of the papers is Latvian migration to Australia, but there is also a good deal of general information Australian social life and economic conditions. Much of this is revealed through documents of Ewers' grandfather, J.S. Anderson, who owned several businesses. Also significant are papers of William M. Nixon, Ewers' great-great grandfather, who was an early Australian photographer.
