This collection comprises papers of Kevin Thomas Kelly (1910-1994), who was involved with Catholic intellectual life in Melbourne in the 1930's - 1950's. The papers document his early membership of the Campion Society; his role in establishing the Catholic Evidence Guild and introducing to Australia the Young Christian Workers (YCW), a movement founded by Belgian priest Joseph Cardijn (Juenesses Ouvriere Chretien J.O.C.). Also included are papers relating to the 'Catholic Worker' newspaper; the establishment of the Australian National Secretariat of Catholic Action (ANSCA); correspondence including with James and Srara Scullin, Jacques Maritain, Louise Massignon and Robert Kothen; and drafts of the first three chapters of his autobiography titled 'Ballarat', 'Bairnsdale' and 'Malvern'.
