This collection includes programs, photographs, cards and correspondence between Sidney Jones and Dame Joan Sutherland, documenting a relationship between singer and fan which developed over three decades. Jones was an Englishman with a passion for music who collected music memorabilia and autographs of celebrated singers and musicians. Contents of the letters and cards range from simple greetings to news of family, travel, music events and singing competitions for which Sutherland was an adjudicator. In addition there are several opera programs, some of which are signed by Sutherland and Richard Bonynge, and two photographs. One photograph depicts Sutherland at the home of Noel Coward in the West Indies in the 1960s, and the other is of Jones on his wedding day.
