My trip to New Zealand and a group of islands in the South Seas, 1883-1884 (Vol. I, New Zealand; Vol. II, The Friendly Islands) Martin E. Jull, May '86; Diary kept while on a voyage round the world, 1884-1884. The detailed part of the diary extends from 18 June 1883-6 March 1884 and covers Jull's visits to Auckland and other parts of the North Island of New Zealand, the Friendly Islands, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji; Also included are about 80 photographs, annotated and identified. Vol II contains some newspaper cuttings about Queen Salote of Tonga.

Papers relating to World War I collected by J. A. Ferguson. The collection includes programs, souvenir menus, patriotic and souvenir postcards, photographs,broadsides, correspondence, music scores and official proclamations, mostly from Australian military forces serving in Europe, the Middle East, New Guinea and at sea. There are programs, menus and photographs from internment camps, known as German Concentration Camps, in Australia located at Holdsworthy, Trial Bay and Berrima, shipboard and other war theatre diaries, official printed material,letters from servicemen at the front (including to the Rev. John Ferguson and Mrs Ferguson) and later letters to J.A. Ferguson in relation to his collecting, a number of shipboard and field service magazines, and three scores of patriotic war-time songs.

The collection includes: 1. Thirteen handwritten signed letters from Robert Horace Walpole, three letters addressed to his mother ten addressed to his father Commander Frederick Walpole, 1822-1876. R.H. Walpole was a midshipman on HMS Blanche HMS Pearl during a tour of duty for the suppression of the slave trade, in Australia, New Zealand the Pacific Islands, 1872-1874. His letters describe life on board ship on shore, his financial difficulties, his active service among the Pacific Islands including Fiji, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Marshall Islands New Hebrides In letters to his mother in 1872 Walpole describes a '... search of a notorious kidnapper and pirate named Captain Hayes' (William Henry 'Bully' Hayes, 1829-1877). 2. Fifteen business letters addressed to Frederick Walpole about his son's naval appointment, debts, bank drafts clothing.
