Abstract Or Scope
The original consignment, MS 9811, comprises correspondence, minutes of meetings, postcards, newspaper cuttings, cablegrams, invitations, magazine articles, books, slides and cassette tapes. There is also a collection of photographs with an annotated index. This material was assembled during the course of Manton's work as a consultant specialising in the arts and cultures of Singapore, Malaysia and Indochina. It relates to Cambodia's history and post Khmer Rouge cultural, social and political re-development with a particular focus on the processes of silk weaving. The collection also documents Manton's activities in encouraging Australian participation in the re-establishment of some of Cambodia's fine art processes.

The collection includes correspondence and newspaper cuttings, reviews, manuscripts and typescripts of Dymphna's translations and other publications including Charles Von Hügel's New Holland Journals, Eduard Hernsheim: South Sea Merchant and Speaking Out of Turn: Lectures and Speeches, 1940-1991; articles, lectures and talks, research material, cards, conference papers, university transcripts, oral history transcriptions, posters, printed ephemera and papers relating to Dymphna's work on the Aboriginal Treaty Committee. There is family correspondence, including letters exchanged between Dympnha and Manning Clark and their children, together with photographs of familiy and friends.

This collection comprises papers relating to Arvi Parbo's positions at Western Mining Corporation, Broken Hill Proprietary Company (BHP) and Alcoa of Australia. Other papers include correspondence, speeches and articles, desk diaries, pocket diaries and personal documents. The majority of the collection consists of 160 chronologically arranged lever folders (ca. 1949-2004) which start from Parbo's career and contain personal and business records, photographs and cuttings tabulated by month for each year. The collections also comprises the personal papers of Sir Arvi Parbo and papers relating to the history of Western Mining Corporation (WMC) and companies in the Western Mining group. They include correspondence, speeches, book drafts, personal recollections, newspaper cuttings and audiovisual material. The recollections of Sir Arvi Parbo describe his experiences as a migrant from Estonia to Australia, studying Engineering in Adelaide, and then working for WMC progressively moving into management roles in the company. WMC historical material includes published and unpublished papers on its mining operations and corporate activities. (28 boxes, 1 fol. box).

The bulk of the MS 7365 collection comprises papers relating to Sara Dowse's work as a writer, including research material, correspondence, newspaper cuttings and drafts of her novels, reviews and short stories. There are papers relating to her work as head of the Office of Women's Affairs, papers relating to grant applications, and personal correspondence with family and friends. There are extensive files on West Block, Canberra tales, Schemetime and Silver city, and also on the National Women's Advisory Council, Australian Labor Party, and Australian National Word Festival.
