The bulk of the collection falls within the period 1914-1920 when Lord Novar of Raith (Sir Ronald Craufurd Munro-Ferguson) was Governor-General. It includes official despatches from Novar to the King, private letters from Novar to the King's Private Secretaries and their replies, both personal and official despatches to the Secretaries of State for the Colonies and their replies and correspondence relating to Novar's official duties as Governor-General. Voluminous personal correspondence includes letters with W.M. Hughes, G.F. Pearce and leading military and political figures in Australia and England. The subject matter of both personal and official files includes the war, including recruiting and conscription, Australian political events at State and Commonwealth levels, the Australian economy, and Australian, Japanese, and British interests in the Pacific region. Correspondents include L.S. Amery, Sir James W. Barrett, Sir Edmund Barton, General W.R. Birdwood, Sir William Bridges, Sir James Burns, Bede Clifford, Sir Joseph Cook, Andrew Fisher, Lord Forrest, Sir Samuel Walker Griffith, L.V. Harcourt, A. MS 10757 encompasses Richard Bonynge and Dame Joan Sutherland's working career archive and research library, with the most substantial component comprising a vast array of music manuscripts, published scores and sets, sheet music, photocopies, and music excerpts. The archive contains a collection of singing methods, vocalises, and treatises ranging from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries, used to research and develop singing techniques appropriate to different time periods and styles of vocal repertoire; as well as numerous scores and parts annotated and used by both Richard Bonynge and Joan Sutherland, including arrangements by Douglas Gamley for recordings and live performances, and Joan Sutherland's annotated libretti and performance notes.
The collection comprises records of the Sydney Dance Company including records for many of the company's major performances and tours, correspondence, planning notes; papers relating to publicity, marketing and advertising; programs; financial records; budgets; itineraries; reviews; clippings, cast lists; photographs; sponsorship events; annual reports; newsletters; ephemera; and subscription.

Collection comprises research notes, drafts, correspondence, 16 mm films, negatives, slides, and over 3,000 photographs relating to Keith Meggs' books titled 'Australian-built aircraft and the industry' (volume 1-3). The publications contain information on every aircraft type proposed, designed, or manufactured in Australia, from 1884 to the mid-1980s. Keith Meggs published several authoritative works on Australian aviation and is internationally recognised for his contributions to aviation and its recorded history.

Correspondence, memoranda, notes, speeches, press cuttings, ephemera and publications covering every phase of Symon's life: his legal practice, political career in South Australia and his involvement in the Federal Conventions and Federation. The papers also reflect his literary, educational, social and philanthropic interests and his association with the Universities of Sydney and Adelaide and the South Australian State Library.
The papers in MS 5612 document Roger McDonald's activities as an editor, poet and novelist and his relations with publishers, film producers, the ABC and literary editors. The bulk of the collection comprises papers relating to most of McDonald's published works, dating from his first publication in 1968 up until 1994. Papers include research material, edited drafts, correspondence with editors and publishers and reviews he has written. They provide a good insight into the development of his published writings. During the course of his career, McDonald has corresponded with many other writers, including Murray Bail, Bruce Beaver, Bruce Dawe, Geoffrey Dutton, Gwen Harwood, Shirley Hazzard, David Malouf, Les Murray, Thomas Shapcott, R.A. Simpson and Judith Wright. Also included in the collection is research material for a number of McDonald's literary projects, business papers, papers relating to his work as literary editor for University of Queensland Press, photographs and newspaper clippings.
