The Records of Ausdance National comprises minutes of meetings from that date, correspondence, brochures, Ausdance policies and procedures, details of national projects and partnerships, publications, newsletters, photographs, and dance artists' and companies' ephemera. It also contains details of various political campaigns, including Petitions to Parliament. In some cases the archives of partner organisations, such as the World Dance Alliance, are also integrated into the collection. There is a collection of posters and two objects of note are two ballet shoes, one signed by Robert Helpmann and one signed by Marilyn Jones.
Julie Dyson (AM) is an arts advocate working across several national and international organisations, including as past Chair of the National Advocates for Arts Education and a Global Executive member of the World Dance Alliance. She is the former national director of Ausdance and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2007. This collection has been developed by Julie Dyson during the course of her career working in performing arts focusing on dance. It contains personal papers, study notes, teaching materials, dance and ballet programs, clippings, board papers and an artist journal.
