This collection comprises papers spanning the early years and working career of Dr Lowitja O'Donoghue AC CBE DSG, advocate for Australian First Nations people. Much of the collection relates to Dr O'Donoghue's senior roles as chair of Aboriginal Hostels, chair of the Aboriginal Development Commission and of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC). There are reports, papers and correspondence relating to Dr O'Donoghue's extensive and varied involvement in associations and movements for Indigenous health welfare and human rights. There are also biographical papers, photographs, published books and articles, notebooks and diary schedules, loose transcripts and a boxed 3-volume collection of speeches. Also included are commemorative and personal objects from Dr O'Donoghue, such as torches and tracksuits from the Olympics and ParaOlympics, her wedding dress and decorations, as well as plaques of appreciation, honours and awards.

MS 7073 comprises manuscripts, research notes, typescript drafts, galley proofs, draft notes and correspondence concerning writing and publication of Summers' book Damned whores and God's police, and her autobiography Ducks on the pond. Correspondents include Henry Mayer, Melanie Beresford, Ann Curthoys and staff of Penguin Books. The collection includes a cuttings book containing press cuttings about Summers and Damned whores and God's police; files of research notes; cuttings; and, correspondence on a wide range of topics including women and poverty, single parents, family, Caroline Chisholm, child care, Aboriginal Australians, rape reform proposals, suicide, women unionists, education, prostitution, racism, Womens' Electoral Lobby, Adela Pankhurst Walsh, women and the media. The collection also includes material relating to the journal Refractory girl and the publication of Her story: Australian women in print 1788-1975. There are papers and material relating to Gamble for power; papers relating to the "free Sandra Willson" campaign and Ms and Sassy magazines; transcripts and video tapes relating to the ABC TV program "Anne Summers in conversation with six Aussie men" (1994); and, various papers relating to women's issues (66 boxes, 7 fol. boxes).The Acc07.177 instalment includes a wide range of correspondence; files on various publishers and projects; and, material relating to The end of equality, Ms and Sassy magazines, Good weekend and Greenpeace International (19 boxes).

"The Thomson story : childhood memories 1924-1941" by David Thomson (1999).The MS Acc06.135 addition includes two volumes by David Thomson - 'The Thomson Story : Part III - The Thomson Family in Gippsland from 1843' and 'The Thomson Story : Part IV - The Thomson Family From 1864'. The MS Acc22.001 addition comprises papers relating to David Scott Thomson's political career as the National Country Party (later the National Party) member for the House of Representatives seat of Leichhardt, Queensland, Minister for Science and Environment and Minister for Science and Technology in the Fraser Government and includes: speeches; writings; correspondence with Doug Anthony; documents relating to overseas delegations; photographs; transcriptions of oral history recordings; and post political career directorships. A cloth bound photograph album belonging to R.G. Casey compiled between 1915 and 1922, comprising of 52 photographs mostly captioned of a largely personal nature. The photographs capture images of family and friends as well as holidays to Mount Kosciuzko and New Zealand. There are also photos of General Birdwood's visit to Mount Morgan during his 1920 tour of Australia and New Zealand; as well as photographs of the Somme taken by H. Courtney Browne in 1922.

The collection comprises records relating to the Casey family including papers from Van Diemen's Land surgeon Cornelius Gavin Casey, containing early maps of the Towns of Formby and Forthside that are now part of Devonport. The papers of his son, pastoralist and parliamentarian Richard Gardiner Casey includes notebooks and business correspondence relating to his pastoral and business activities in Queensland in the late 19th century, on the cattle station Kilfera and the Mount Morgan Gold Mining Company. Additionally, there are speeches and papers of Richard Gavin Gardiner Casey's (Baron Casey) from his time as Governor of Bengal, Minister-in-Charge of the CSIR (later CSIRO) through to his position as Governor-General of Australia; Casey family photographs dating from the 1800's and official and personal photographs taken throughout Baron Casey's career; Casey family correspondence dating from the 1830s through to the 1980s; notebooks describing travels in England and Ireland in the mid nineteenth century, and drawing books, sketches and original artworks by Maie Casey and two watercolours attributed to Ellis Rowan.

The archive of journalist Wilfred Burchett spans 40 years of his career and consists of images taken by him, or by others using his equipment. It documents life in communist societies, including Vietnam during the 1960s. The archive also includes photographs taken in Laos, Cambodia, Korea, China, Russia, Algeria and Africa capturing siginificant political events in those countries, his relationships with prominent leaders such as Ho Chi Minh and Prince Norodom Sihanouk and also includes family photographs.
