The collection documents the career of Greg Hartung, primarily focusing on his contribution to Australian sports policy and administration and includes records relating to the Confederation of Australian Sport, of which Hartung is a life member, the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Paralympic Committee, the Australian Paralympic Federation, the Asian Pacific and Oceania Sports Assembly, the Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled, the International Assembly of National Organisations of Sport, the National Sports Organisations for Disabled, the Sydney Paralympic Organising Committee and the Arafura Games. The collection contains correspondence, drafts, typescripts and notes relating to books and articles written by McCarthy. Also included are reviews, radio scripts, diaries of McCarthy and his wife. Some of the correspondents are: Mrs E. Bean, Sir Paul Hasluck, Gough Whitlam, etc. The three main books are: "South-West Pacific area first year: Kokoda to Wau" (vol. 5 of "Australia in the war of 1939-45); "The fate of O'Loughlin" and "Gallipoli to the Somme: the story of C.E.W. Bean".Additional papers document Dudley Mccarthy's professional life as Patrol Officer in Papua New Guinea, Australian Minister to United Nations in New York and as Ambassador to Mexico and Spain and . They include published books, photographs, notes and press clippings along with some childhood and family photographs.

This collection of papers includes reports, proceedings and correspondence, legislation documents relating to intercountry adoption in Australia and overseas. The collection includes the reports and associated papers of two Australian intercountry adoption delegations to countries in Asia of which Fopp was a member, and material from conferences concerned with both local Australian conferences, and the International Council of Social Workers Seminars of 1979, 1980,1981 and 1982 at which Fopp represented Australia. Some of these conferences Fopp attended as a government agent, some as a private citizen, and the reports are produced by government and non-government agencies. It also includes correspondence and publications in relation to adoption in Sweden, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, Indonesia, Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, India, and Taiwan.

The World 1 project, an electric network connecting Australian and New Zealand libraries, was to be a system that would link libraries around Australia and provide electronic access to international materials not held by the Library.
