The papers were assembled by Patricia Clare and fall into two categories. The earliest material is associated with Bland Holt and comprises two letters from him to Violet Canty, the sister of Clare's father, a New Year message and two Christmas messages, dating from 1907 to 1922. There is also a photo of Violet Canty as Maida in 'The breaking of the drought' produced by Bland Holt. This group of documents includes a photograph of Claire Canty, Clare's mother who was a great niece of Sir Henry Parkes. There is a copy of the 'Memorandum of Agreement' between The Olympia (Entertainments) Co. and Claire Parkes to sing in Max Reinhardt's production 'The Miracle' in London in December 1911.

Grriffin written for Louise Lighfoot; Copy of a thesis on the work of Walter Burley Griffin by Robert Meyer; Eight page original contract dated 1 November 1934. Signed by Eric M. Nichols and Walter B. Griffin on behalf of the Greater Sydney Development Association, and by E. A. Deans; Five page typewritten essay written by C. C. D. Brammall in 1947 and annotated by Edgar Deans describing the Griffins aims to build a Sydney suburb of Castlecrag; Newsletter published by the Cumberland County Council Cumberland;The Federal Capital: Report Explanatory of the Preliminary General Plan from 1913; Illustrated plan of the subdivision of Castlecrag Estate, produced by the Greater Sydney Development Association.

Included also are programs and brochures for concerts, recitals and miscellaneous events, annotated review copies of concert programs 1959-1988, an index which includes a register arranged by composer A-Z, a Chronological Register of all events attended since 1944-1992 and an alphabetical performance summary for composers (annual) and list of abbreviations.

The papers relate to the lives and careers of conductor, vocal coach, music critic and composer Curt Prerauer, and soprano, journalist, music critic and author Marea Prerauer. The papers feature the Prerauers' shared correspondence, including correspondence with composers and other cultural figures such as Peter Sculthorpe, Richard Meale and Patrick White. Other material includes drafts of their music criticism and other writings, manuscripts of music composed by Curt Prerauer, published music owned by the Prerauers, photographs and family papers. The largest series comprises cuttings of their published work.

The papers mainly comprise drafts of Dawson's memoir Skydoctor which relates to some of his experiences as a flying doctor with the Royal Australian Flying Doctor Service in 1954-1957. There are also trip records and diaries recording cases attended by Dawson, correspondence, memorabilia and printed material. The collection also includes certificates and documents relating to his education and family, his work as a psychiatrist and statements to the Chelmsford Royal Commission into Deep Sleep Therapy. Correspondents include Allan Vickers, James Cameron, K.G. Knight, Russel Pardoe, John Pearn, Jim Murtha, Brian Warren, Brian Crane, Ivan Neale, Pamela Indyjk, Tom House, Pat Tully and Lloyd McKay.
