Abstract Or Scope
The collection comprises business papers, correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, publications and official documents. These papers record the activities and perspectives of Chinese diplomatic representatives as they negotiated and responded to Australian foreign and migration policies during the White Australia era. The collection highlights the early stages of diplomatic relations between Australia and China, spanning the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The collection includes financial records such as expenditure reports, government bonds, and trade and export reports. Additionally, it contains materials related to foreign affairs, including trade regulations, licenses and visas issued by the Chinese Consulate-General in Australia, treaties for various ports, and official correspondence with the Department of External Affairs, Department of Home and Territories and Department of Trade.

The material divides into four sections: 1. Biographical articles on people connected with trade unions and the labour movement and people in the literary and theatrical worlds. 2. Articles relating to Alice Henry or written by her, which appeared in newspapers and magazines. 3. Articles and personal letters relating to Alice Henry's activities. 4. Poetry, verse and photographs on various topics.

The collection consists of correspondence, research material and photographs relating to the multiple elements of Shirley Andrews' life: her childhood, political activities, career as a biochemist, travel and involvement in traditional social dance (also known as folk, colonial or bush dancing) and folk music in Australia. Andrews was a member of the Communist Party (CPA) and the papers include notes and photographs dating from her CPA membership and a trip to Berlin and Eastern European countries in 1951. In the 1950-60s Andrews was active in the Aboriginal rights movement and there are papers relating to her involvement with the Council for Aboriginal Rights (Victoria) (CAR), the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders (FCAATSI) and correspondence with Jessie Street, Charles Duguid and Ada Bromham, c.1957-1959.

Keith Meggs published several authoritative works on Australian aviation and is internationally recognised for his contributions to aviation and its recorded history.

The Kenneth Rowell costume design archive comprises approximately 1400 original costume designs for 87 productions created by Kenneth Rowell from 1943 to 1993. The works encompass Kenneth Rowell's entire theatrical design career in theatre, ballet and opera principally in Australia, plus early and later works produced in England. The archive includes a number of original poster designs for productions and festivals, production documentation, sketchbooks, notebooks, drawings, contracts, correspondence, programs, catalogues, photographs, negatives, index cards and recorded interviews with Kenneth Rowell.
