Records of the Colonial Office (as filmed by the AJCP), 1714-1959

9393 items
Abstract Or Scope
Colonial Office records constitute by far the largest group of records filmed by the Australian Joint Copying Project (AJCP). As most of the Colonial Office Series relate to specific colonies they have largely been filmed comprehensively (with some exceptions). In this respect the Colonial Office copying has differed from that of most of the other record groups.

Papers of Sir James Plimsoll, 1928-1987

12.6 metres (81 ms boxes + 1 medium folio box + 7 sound/av carriers)
Abstract Or Scope
A very large proportion of the material comprised publications and the collection is very strong in art exhibition catalogues, theatre and concert programs, travel and tourist literature, Russian and Japanese language material, and newspaper cuttings. Much of the published material was of no biographical interest and duplicated material held in the Library's general collections. As a result, almost half of the material received in 1990 was discarded by the Library.
