Abstract Or Scope
The bulk of the collection comprises papers relating to Sinclair's involvement in the Fraser Island Defenders Organisation (FIDO) and the campaign to stop sand mining on Fraser Island. The FIDO papers include corporate records; correspondence with supporters, politicians and the media; papers relating to legal cases; scrapbooks; newspaper clippings and subject files. The papers also relate to Sinclair's interest in a number of other conservation organisations including the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland, the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF), the Wide Bay Burnett Conservation Council and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCNNR). Other conservation projects represented in the papers are the National Conservation Strategy for Australia and the Working Group on Rainforest Conservation. There are also papers relating to Sinclair's employment in adult education and Technical and Further Education in Queensland, his involvement in defamation cases and a small quantity of personal papers.

The collection largely consists of material collected by Pauline Armstrong whilst researching and writing her PhD thesis, 'A critical biography of Frank Hardy' (1997), and preparing the thesis for publication, as Frank Hardy and the making of Power Without Glory (2000). A smaller portion of the collection relates to Armstrong's Masters thesis, 'A history of the Save Our Sons movement of Victoria, 1965-1973' (1991). The material in the collection includes correspondence, research material, photographs and other graphic material, audio-visual material, transcriptions, drafts and proofs.

Material relating to the referendum (popular consultation) held on August 30, 1999 to determine whether East Timor would accept or reject special autonomy within Indonesia, as well as some material relating to the transitional UNAMET (United Nations Mission in East Timor) period after the referendum. The collection includes election observer and peacekeeper material and pro-autonomy and militia materials, such as flyers, clothing, and posters.

Abstract Or Scope
The bulk of the collection deals with Dr Isaac's works and consist of research notes and draft manuscripts. Some of the manuscripts were passed to colleagues prior to publication and are annotated with suggestions. The four major works written by Dr Isaacs are included in the collection. They are: Greek children in Sydney (Canberra: Australian National University, 1976), The Greek community in Sydney : a contribution to the sociology of ethnicity (Sydney: University of New South Wales, [1981]), Greek children at school and after (Canberra: Australian Government Publishing Service, 1981) and 'Social history of Greek professionals in New South Wales' (unpublished). Conference papers written by Dr Isaacs are also present, as are materials produced by other academics and used in her research.
