Map of the San-On district within the Kwangtung Province and featuring the city of Hong Kong following British occupation in 1841. The boundary of the British colony is shown in Kowloon. This peninsula had been added to the colony of Hong Kong in 1860. Place names are given in both Roman and Chinese scripts. On sheet 76 x 91 cm.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Purchased as part of the Papers of John Stanley Cumpston by the National Library of Australia from his widow Helen in 1986. Map collection accessioned in 1989.
