Content Summary:
Manila folder with J.S. Cumpston label on front cover containing 2 sheets of typed notes on the remarks and occurances of a journey to King's [King] Island, 2 -4 April 1807, likely by the Marcia, based on First Visitors to Bass Strait, page 32. Verso of each page shows Cumpston's address and phone number. Folder also contains a photocopied page of a ship's log from the Public Record Office, with reference ADM 51/1777, from which the typed notes have been transcribed.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Purchased as part of the Papers of John Stanley Cumpston by the National Library of Australia from his widow Helen in 1986. Map collection accessioned in 1989.
