This subseries contains a large collection of letters written to Nora Heysen by her husband Dr Robert Black. Black travelled extensively internationally with his work on tropical diseases. Some letters were in bundles and these have been retained. Letters have not been further arranged.

Letters are addressed 'My dear darling' and are signed with the endearment 'I do. Robert'.

Letters relate the travels, meetings and work of Dr Robert Black.

Immediate source of acquisition:
Nora Heysen bequeathed the collection to the Library as part of the Heysen Trust in a single instalment in 2004, with the assistance of Lou Klepac, Nora Heysen's executor.
