A range of papers mostly relating to overseas trips by the Cromes in 1974 and 1976.

Includes letters from Sir William Heseltine and J B Marriott, both of Buckingham Palace; employment references for Crome; letters of introduction from the Crome, including from Prime Minister Whitlam; correspondence with dealers including Gerald M Norman Gallery and Oscar Shapiro; itinerary of the Cromes' trip in 1974; airline brochures for audio programs; correspondence with Geoffrey Crome; and correspondence with libraries and archives for family history research.

Also includes correspondence with Deputy Prime Minister Doug Anthony, the US Embassy and the United States Information Agency relating to gifts Crome made to the USSR and to the Smithsonian Institution, and a TV news release for the gift to the Smithsonian.

Some material has been collected by Crome, presumable through a dealer or at auction. This includes a group of signatures and seals of early governors and other figures in early colonial life: Samuel Marsden, Richard Bourke, George Gipps, Lachlan Macquarie, John Oxley and Ralph Darling. There is also a safe conduct pass for Vietnamese and allies.
