- Black and White prints. Contained in a 'Blanc Hermine' box. Prints inside the box were grouped in small, paper wrapped batches. The paper was variously inscribed. The paper wrap has been retained, in order, in the re-housing. The inscriptions were as follows (with print quantity in brackets): Finintegu (2); Kelva 1933? Mt Hargen (6); [Chimlou] between [It] and [Monifutugen] (4); Siant 1933 (6); Bena Bena Mick Leahy Photos 1933? (7); Empty envelope with writing retained in the collection. All prints have a hand-written code on the back and are stamped with 'COPYRIGHT by MJ Leahy - Wau - New Guinea'.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- MS 8346 was bequeathed to the Library by John Black in 1988. At the request of the family, to enable Robin Radford to complete her research, it remained in Adelaide until 1992. In 1999 Dr Bill Gammage added a substantial collection of photographs taken on the Hagen-Sepik Patrol of 1938-39. They have been placed in Series 3. Further papers were received in 2011.
