Newton, Sir William (fl. 1850-1916). Twelve letters 1881-1916 received by Newton, Kings Counsel and Member of the Mauritius Council. He was a delegate for Mauritius in London in the latter part of the nineteenth century, but lived at various times on Mauritius. His correspondents include Sultan Abdullah of Perak in the Seychelles, G.H. Griffiths; Maurice Bouchas, C. Baissac and George Guibert.
