This collection was transferred to the Library in four consignments between 1976 and 2001. The first consignment (boxes 1-17), consisting of Curtin Electorate papers, was transferred to the Library from the Curtin Electoral Office by Hasluck's successor M.P., The Hon. Victor Garland. The second consignment (boxes 18-31) was presented to the Library by Sir Paul in 1983 and consists of printed and roneoed material on a variety of subjects. The third consignment (boxes 32-39) consists of ten bound volumes of personal papers in addition to five boxes of material relating to the Northern Territory and to Australian Aborigines. The fourth consignment (box 40) was received from Sir David Smith, Secretary to the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and consists of the Official Secretary's copy of speeches made by Hasluck between 1969 and 1974.
