The collection comprises diaries, station journals, photographs, correspondence, maps, newspaper cuttings and other papers. They primarily relate to the property 'Yarralumla'.
The major correspondents are F. Campbell and Walter Campbell. Most of the letters were written to Richard and Douglas Vest. One of the diaries was kept by Anne Willams on a journey from Weetangera to Moruya (October 1882).
- Biographical Note:

Richard Vest worked for the Campbell Family at 'Duntroon' and was overseer of 'Yarralumla' after Frederick Campbell acquired the property in 1881. He remained on the station after it was resumed by the Commonwealth Government in 1913. His son Douglas Vest of Canberra carried out research on the history of 'Yarralumla' and the Campbell Family.
