Content Summary:

Bryan joined the Association in 1948, he served for over 25 years on its General Council, chaired a number of committees. In 1973 and 1974 he was President of the Association, he later became a Fellow of the Association and in 1984 was awarded the Association's highest honour, the HCL Anderson award, in recognition of his outstanding service to the library and information profession.

The series comprises correspondence, reports, minutes, agendas and submissions.

The collection includes coverage of Bryan's time as President of the Library Association of Australia, 1973-1974

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated by Harrison Bryan to the Library on 6 December 1996, with a further donation made on 8 July 2002.
