Content Summary:

This collection includes material previously accessioned at MS 4932. Printed material from the McIvor Papers has been integrated into the general Library collection.

The bulk of the papers relates to McIvor's Federal Parliamentary career, 1955-72, particularly his involvement in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works, 1962-63; the House of Representatives Select Committee on Aircraft Noise, 1969; and the Standing Committee of Privileges, 1971. The collection also includes Parliamentary correspondence, papers relating to his electorate, political subject files, papers relating to the ALP, ministerial statements and press releases, speeches and articles by McIvor, a travel diary, 1962, and family and general correspondence.

Provenance:

The collection was donated by McIvor in four instalments in 1975, 1980, 1984 and 1985.
