This collection comprises Mowle's research material, correspondence, photocopies and cuttings relating to the fifth edition of the Pioneer families of Australia. The earlier editions of the book were edited by Mowle's father, P.C. Mowle.
Files 135-141 include correspondence, research material, notebooks, cuttings and reviews of Pioneer families in Australia.
The correspondents were member of the families whose histories were included in the book. Copies of Mowle's letters were often included.

Genealogist and writer. Langdon Marjoribanks Mowle was born in 1907. He edited the fifth edition of the Pioneer families of Australia (1978). The earlier edition of the book were compiled by his father, Percival Conrad Mowle. Mowle died in 1990?
Percival Conrad Mowle was the editor of the first to fourth editions of Pioneer families of Australia.
The papers include notes, drafts and correspondence with family members and friends of the Pioneer families of Australia. Copies of some of Mowle's letters are often included. The files were kept in alphabetical order by the donor and this arrangement has been maintained by the Library.
