Content Summary:
The collection comprises photographs, newspaper clippings, programs, correspondence and memorabilia documenting Dinah Shearing's twenty-five year career on stage and in radio and television.
Biographical Note:

Dinah Shearing was born in Sydney. She studied at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music and the National Drama School and made her stage debut at the British Drama League Annual Festival of Community Drama in 1945. She soon established a reputation as one of Australia's leading stage and radio actresses. She was one of the founders of the Elizabethan Players in 1959.

Dinah Shearing is married to the artist, poet and playwright Rodney Milgate, whose papers are also held in the Library's Manuscript Collection.
