The British sociologist Barbara Wootton visited Australia during October and November 1961 at the invitation of the Universities of Sydney, Melbourne and New South Wales and the Australian National University.

The series is small and contains correspondence concerning arrangements for the tour with Baroness Wootton, Sir George Paton, Sir Arthur Rylah, G. Sawer, M.S. Brown, N. Morris, and S.W. Johnston. There are also notes for Barry's address as chairman of one of the four lectures given by Wootton in Melbourne, and press cuttings.
