During October and November 1964 Barry was visiting expert at the Seventh International Course of the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and Treatment of Offenders, Fuchu, Tokyo.

Material in the series dates from 1962 (when Norval Morris, recently appointed Director of the Institute, first suggested Barry's visit) and contains correspondence with Morris, H.G. Weir, V.N. Pillai, H.T. Sie and others; terms of the appointment; notes and background material used by Barry in the preparation of the series of lectures, entitled Law and society; copies of the lectures; travel accounts and brochures.
