At the Third National Conference of the Australian Prison After-Care Council in January 1965, Barry advocated that there be established in Australia and administered by the Commonwealth Government an Institute of Criminal and Penal Science.
A copy of this address, as reported in the Law Council newsletter, vol.1, no.3, is included in the series together with the report of Justice McClemens to the Commonwealth Government entitled The question of the establishment of an Institute of Criminology in Australia (1965), and copies of correspondence between N. Morris and N. Bowen in 1969 concerning the proposed Institute.
