Background

Content Summary:

Material in the Australian performing arts programs and ephemera (PROMPT) collection consists of theatre programs, newsletters, and related items of the Queensland Theatre Company.

The Queensland Theatre Company is Australia's third largest theatre company. It was established in 1970 by Alan Edwards AM MBE, and was granted the prefix "Royal" in 1984. The company presents an annual season of classics, contemporary international and Australian work, with an emphasis on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander theatre, education and youth participation, regional engagement, and the development of stories and artists. The company was named the Royal Queensland Theatre Company from 1984-2001, and then known as the Queensland Theatre Company from 2001 (see separate PROMPT file under the earlier heading).

The list is based on imperfect holdings and is updated over time as gaps in the Library's holdings are filled.
