Material in the Australian performing arts programs and ephemera (PROMPT) collection consists of programs and related items of the Hurstville Light Opera Company including flyers, and theatre programs such as half a sixpence, Australia remembers 1945-1995, Call me Madam, and Brigadoon.

In 1969 Hurstville Musical Society became Hurstville Light Opera Company. The Society was founded in 1962 by Norman McPherson and his wife, Florence. Norman McPherson, mayor of Hurstville, 1949-1959, became President of the Society. The aim of the company was to strive for excellence and the company offered diverse performances with musical comedy, Gilbert and Sullivan and grand opera. The company is self funded, with no government grants, but supported by Hurstville Council.

The list is based on imperfect holdings and is updated over time as gaps in the Library's holdings are filled.
