- Collection of photographs taken by visiting journalist Charles Barrett of the 1928 Great Barrier Reef Expedition, also known as the Yonge Expedition or the Low Isles Expedition, a thirteen-month scientific program beginning in 1928 to study the Australian Great Barrier Reef. Barrett's photographs focus on members of the expedition and their support staff, and capture some of the activities that were undertaken such as collecting samples, examining specimens in the marine laboratory, as well as general views near the expedition's encampment.
