Cecil John White (1900-1986), better known as Unk White, was born in Auckland, New Zealand. White was a cartoonist and contributed to the Bulletin, Melbourne Punch, Smith Weekly and Beckett's Budget. White was the first secretary of the Black and White Artist's Club. He later became an accredited war artist and served in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. He was also known as a watercolour artist.
The collection includes portraits of White, magazine clippings of White and friends, and copies of drawings.
