- Group of thirteen letters written between 15 February 1826 and 11 November 1831 sent from a range of locations by the two scientists to Louis de Freycinet, predominantly during the first Pacific voyage of Dumont d'Urville on the Astrolabe. Of note in the correspondence is a description of the discovery of the fate of the La Perouse voyage of 1788. Correspondence mostly written by Gaimard with the active participation of Quoy.
