Material in the Australian performing arts programs and ephemera (PROMPT) collection consists of programs and related items of the Royal Opera House including theatre programs of various Australian performers.
The Royal Opera is a company based in central London, resident at the Royal Opera House, in Covent Garden. Along with the English National Opera, it is one of the two principal opera companies in London. The company was founded in 1946 as the Covent Garden Opera Company, and it was known by that title until 1968. Since its inception, it has shared the Royal Opera House with the dance company now known as The Royal Ballet (see separate PROMPT file). The Library's Royal Opera PROMPT file contains programs relating to performances featuring Australians.
The list is based on imperfect holdings and is updated over time as gaps in the Library's holdings are filled.
