- MS Acc12.145 comprises letters from Andrew Somervaille to his wife, "Ray", written while he was stationed in Asia during the Second World War. Andrew James Law Somervaille was a soldier during the Second World War. He was taken prisoner of war in Singapore. Somervaille died in Sydney in 1984. His wife, Eileen Mary Ray Somervaille, lived in Waratah, a suburb of Newcastle, during the Second World War.
