Content Summary:

Photographs of Sydney scenery, city buildings, country and bush scenes in N.S.W., mining, aviation, Northern Territory and Queensland, Tasmania, Melbourne, Canberra, Indigenous Australians, portraits, Sydney Harbour Bridge and aerial photography and surveys. Collection includes glass negatives of his father, James Searle, a lantern lecturer, and albums of mounted photographs.

Biographical / Historical:

E.W. (Edward William) Searle was a professional photographer associated with the firms Hall Co. and Grace Bros (Sydney) and J.W. Beattie (Hobart). He photographed an official record of the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
