Scope and contents: The majority are images of Tasmania: mainly Hobart, Mt. Wellington, Port Arthur, Maria Island with a selection of coastal and bush scenes. Of particular interest are the Roald Amundsen photographs taken during his Antarctic expedition in 1907-1909 on the Fram, as well as several photographs of Mawson's Antarctic expedition 1911-1912 on the Aurora.
The album includes four folded prison records from Port Arthur of Alice McQuade (1845), Jacob Minty (1850), Enos Robins (1849) and Philip Brewster (1849). There are also 22 visiting cards attached to 2 album pages.
The album includes images of Easter Island, Norfolk Island and Pacific Islanders.
