Content Summary:
This series contains notes, drafts, annotated and unannotated typescripts of Bartlett's published and unpublished books and short stories. Included are typescripts of The pearl seekers, Land of the lotus eaters and Australia and America through two hundred years. Also included are the major unpublished works of his later years, namely his autobiography, the biography of his wife and his book on the Maori Wars.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The collection was donated to the Library by Dr Norman Bartlett in 1981 with an addition in April 1989. After Bartlett's death in 1992, a further addition was donated by his nephew, Michael Paul, in February 1996.
