Valerie Morgan is an Australian soprano who emigrated with her parents to Sydney and began her professional career in Australia and New Zealand before making her debut at the Royal Albert Hall following a series of concerts in Hong Kong, Italy, Greece and Malta. In 1993, she created the role of Prime Minister Lea Giba in the Empress, a specially commissioned opera for Channel 4's 1994 Contemporary Opera season.
