Content Summary:
The papers comprise numbered subject files, many of which were used as the basis for sermons or articles by McKenzie. The files include newspaper cuttings, articles, notes, manuscript and typescript drafts by McKenzie, sermons, Church reports and a small quantity of correspondence. The files relate church matters, Aboriginal missions, John Flynn and to the religious implications of topics including the place of women in society, Cyclone Tracy and other natural disasters and space exploration in the 1950s and 1960s.
Biographical Note:

Douglas Gordon McKenzie worked as a Minister with the Blackburn Presbyterian Church (Vic.) in around 1967 and as a parish minister of the United Church in North Australia in Alice Springs (c.1969-1972) and Darwin (mid 1970s). In 1979 he was Minister of St Andrews Uniting Church, Brisbane. He was the author of several non-fiction books on religious and social topics, mostly published by the Joint Board of Christian Education.

The papers were donated to the Library by Rev. Douglas McKenzie in 1990.
