Content Summary:

On 14 October 2023, Australians voted in a referendum about whether to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.

Collection documents the Melbourne Walk for Yes event which started in Swanston Street and finished at Federation Square, Melbourne, Victoria. The images document the crowd participating in the rally, Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney addressing the crowd, live performances from musicians Peter Garrett, Mia Wray, Marlon Motlop and Kram from Spiderbait, with AFL legend Eddie Betts, ACTU President Michele O'Neil and Marcia Langton marching in support of the Yes Vote.
