The papers are in four main sections:
1. Official and semi-official papers concerning the administration of Canberra 1913-52 covering the work of the Federal Capital Advisory Committee 1921-4 the Federal Capital Commission 1924-30 the period of the Civic Administrator 1930-32 and the Civil Administration Branch of the Department of the Interior 1932-52.
2. Personal papers of Charles Studdy Daley including correspondence writings and papers relating to various societies and committees.
3. Records of the Canberra Musical Society 1928-54. Also includes minute books of the Society of Arts and Literature.
4. Papers of Charles Daley father of C.S. Daley consisting mainly of galley proofs and manuscripts drafts and copies of his publications and addresses.
